The shirts are in! A mid-weight tech shirt with a great image on the back and a nice logo on the front. Having the right shirt is paramount. Being part of the group is just fun! I will be at the Port Huron Rec Center off Gratiot on September 24th to talk about our group, sell shirts, and chat with all the guests at the open house. Come and chat! Also, notes about each classes will be posted here on the blog. So class handouts Locations for meet ups and runs, and recipes will be here for you to print off of the site. Find your inner hot chick and join us for some walking, running, cooking and eating! Hugs for a great holiday weekend! Melissa JUST A SECRET LITTLE NOTE: IF YOU BRING THE CODE "LITTLECHICKS" TO THE REC CENTER, YOU CAN GET $2 off your shirt! So the out-the-door-price would be $35 for Large and Xlarge and $40 for 2XL shirts. She you there! You know, as you start off on this new adventure to health and wellness, a bit more sweat will be coming your way, a bit more working will come your way. Make sure you are comfortable! I designed out shirts--the Fat Chicks Running! shirt--it is awesome!
It is a long sleeve white tech shirt. Being a tech shirt means that the material will chafe the skin less, be more comfortable, and breath while letting moisture wick away. I think these shirts will be a great addition to anyone exercising outside in that they are white and with all the bright color they help drivers see you! Keeping you safer! I like to be safe when I am out walking or running! You can order shirts from me--Large and Exlarge are $38 and 2ExLarges are $40. I accept credit cards, cash, and non-bouncy checks! Be part of the group and show your colors! I am so excited to feel the shirt, they are soft a nice mid-weight, with a slinky feel--I love them! Wearing the right kind of clothing is really important when exercising. If you think wearing jeans for a nice powerful walk will be comfy--please, think again! The seams in jeans (and similar kinds of pants) can chafe your skin. Chafing is when the fabric rubs repeatedly over and over, till the skin is gone and there is blood. Later after the workout, the skin scabs over, but damage is done to your skin and your morale. So be sure to have nice panties, or no panties and nice fitting running shorts--I like a mid-thigh short by Sugoi, called "Jackie," at this time of the year a bit harder to find as stores are pressing fashions for the fall. A short to the knee works great too. You can find a variety of these locally at places like TJ Maxx. I am not a big fan of black. Anyone who knows me will testify of this--I love color. I actually got a pair of long shorts that are peachy--but guess what I found out? If you sweat, the shorts get a little tooooo see through! So black for shorts is a GOOD thing. Try out shorts, test and try on at least 5 pair of different brands....see what is out there. See how the rise fits (the length from your belly button, down the crotch and up to the low back area), see where the shorts end, (move about to see if they wiggle at all), see how fit or snug they are in the crotch. Do you have a seem that is not fit snug? if the crotch is to low you can rub your skin raw--chafing! ICK! You do not want a "low rider" look with running pants, shorts, or skirts--you want a nice skin to short fit. Don't buy the first pair unless you have tried on 5 others! Same thing with shirts get a great shirt--See above! Bra's are another important fact with exercise. A ill fitted bra can lead to ripped pectoral muscles and a lot of pain. Taking care of your breasts may seem kinda corny. They get all out of shape after kids come and go, we get fatter, they sag. Its depressing. But as you strive to find your inner hot chick you do not want to continue to do damage. I have a great bra--Moving Comfort's Fiona. No under-wire, it compresses and lifts and I am a 38 D. I put on that bra and worry about my running form, not the girls! I hate under-wire as they cut into my torso near the under arm. I personally think some man came up with that idea--either that or a A-cup woman some where! Hah! I like the moving comfort (retails about $45) because I can wear it daily and get about a year and a half out of it. I have two now and I rotate them. But when I first started running, I did not have a good bra. Take care of you chest, Ladies!! Get a great bra. Moving comfort has all sizes of bra's but the bra's they have for larger women really are comfortable. Try a few styles on--pay for a great bra! Skip a Latte or something, but get a great bra! If you have not been fitted for a great bra, go to Victoria Secret or some other high end undie store and get correctly fitted. You can google it as well, know your correct cup size, know your correct torso measurement. If the girls are irping up out of your cup, the cup size is way to small ( in a normal bra)--take care of the girls--take care of yourself! |

M. Leaym-FernandezHey, I am a wife, a mom, a teacher, a wellness activist, and connecting all my parts together--I am an artist! I worry about what women are doing to themselves. Gaining weight, not having balance in life, letting the stress destroy our bodies. This blog is going to be full of stories, ideas, and whatevers that I find to help women not end up like the women in the movie "walli" fat, unable to move, unable to work, unable to live. I want to share my struggles, my story. Archives
