Today I started to get active again. I wanted to start earlier in the month of July, but I had what I thought was a stress fracture in my foot. Luckily, it was not and today I started moving again. With my pal, Linda--we did about a mile on some crazy machine at planet fitness and then we did slow walk and runs on the other crazy machine. I think all the machines are crazy. I am working to get running outside again. I am planning to do the Crim 10 miler at the end of August and then the next week my daughter and I, Linda and her daughter, will be doing the Swampfoot 4 mile. Will you join us? We are running in the 11 am heat!
I am also starting my juice fast…crazy I know. I want to share that this is a challenge for me. I am not sure how many days I am going to attempt. I am thinking 5 to 10 days. Why is it challenging? I am hypothyridic, and been fighting off diabetes, plus diabetes runs in my family, I have had diabetes in the past (gestational). My grandmother had the adult onset diabetes. I am fighting this disease off--I am not getting that diabetes!! My goal with Fat Chicks Running is to get you out and moving with me. We have to advocate for each other, no one is going to get you healthy ladies, but I want to help. After I get the blog up and running I will post more about me and more about my life and what I want to do with life, job, my art, and my mad skill! Comments are closed.

M. Leaym-FernandezHey, I am a wife, a mom, a teacher, a wellness activist, and connecting all my parts together--I am an artist! I worry about what women are doing to themselves. Gaining weight, not having balance in life, letting the stress destroy our bodies. This blog is going to be full of stories, ideas, and whatevers that I find to help women not end up like the women in the movie "walli" fat, unable to move, unable to work, unable to live. I want to share my struggles, my story. Archives
